“God had to deal with my fear"
Ben was online one night when he stumbled upon a picture of the island of Lesvos, Greece. That night he had a dream and he was given a vision of refugees landing on the island and woke up confused.
He knew the Lord was calling him to go and serve, but he had reservations. He had just started a dream job, and had some serious opinions surrounding the refugees and what needed to be done about the situation in Syria.
He was driving in his car when he heard the Lord ask,
“Do you think I died for the whole world? Even for the terrorist?"
Immediately he knew what he had to do. He signed up for a month stay in Greece giving relief to refugees.
Even upon arriving to the island, he had some hesitation towards the refugees. That all changed one late night at the camp. That night he was working in some trauma situations. There he saw intense despair and tragic stories of families separated, drownings, and pain. He stayed up all night with grown men who were crying.
There he heard the Lord say
"This is why I’m calling you here. Minster to them."
Many refugees have seen the love Ben shows and they have asked “Are you one of the angels?"
Today his mind and heart have changed. Today his call from the Lord is:
“Put love in action”.
